Adda Central — Notice to Parents and Guardians

DRAFT — prepared for review by Skycast Media Network Private Limited's counsel. Not legal advice.

Last updated: [DATE]

Status: the verifiable parental consent flow described in section 4 is being built behind a feature flag and is not yet live. The verification method is still to be chosen and this notice must be finalised before the flow is switched on (and in any case before the DPDP duties on children's data apply in May 2027). Until then, accounts of players aged 13–17 run in the restricted, data-minimal mode described in section 2.

This notice is for parents and legal guardians of players aged 13 to 17 who use Adda Central, a free casual games app operated by Skycast Media Network Private Limited. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, anyone under 18 is a "child", and we need a parent's or guardian's verifiable consent before processing a child's personal data. This notice tells you what we collect and how to give, refuse or withdraw consent.

1. About Adda Central

2. How teen accounts work (13–17)

Whether or not you have given consent, teen accounts always have these protections:

Until you give verifiable consent, teen accounts also cannot make purchases (and see no offers to buy) and cannot link a Google, Apple or phone account, so we hold no phone number or email for them.

We do not keep your child's birth date — only the month in which they turn 18, after which the account becomes an adult account automatically.

3. What data we process for teen accounts

Data Why
Device and app identifiers, Firebase installation and account IDs To run the account and keep progress
Display name and illustrated avatar (no photos), optional state, language Profile shown to other players
The month from which your child is 18 To apply teen protections and switch to adult automatically
Gameplay records (matches, scores, rewards, friends played with, missions) To run the games, keep them fair, resolve disputes
Crash logs, IP address and approximate region To fix problems, keep the service secure
Push token (if notifications are allowed) Gameplay notifications
Reports, blocks, grievances, consent records Safety, complaints, proof of consent

After consent, if you allow it: purchase records (if you approve purchases) and a linked Google, Apple or phone account. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

[PLACEHOLDER: product and counsel to decide exactly which features consent unlocks — e.g. account linking and purchases with a parent's approval — and whether open matchmaking stays off for teens regardless of consent. The current blueprint unlocks only purchases/spend prompts and account linking.]

When the flow is switched on, it will work broadly like this:

  1. Your child asks for you. In the app, your child taps "Ask a parent" and gives a way to reach you, or shows you a code on their screen. [PLACEHOLDER: choose the hand-off: QR/code shown on the child's device, or a link sent to a parent's phone number or email.]

  2. You read this notice in English or your preferred language.

  3. You confirm you are an adult and the child's parent or guardian. The DPDP Rules allow us to verify that the person giving consent is an identifiable adult using either:

    • reliable identity and age details we already hold about you (for example, if you already have a verified adult Adda Central account); or
    • identity and age details you provide voluntarily, or a virtual token mapped to such details, issued by an entity authorised by law or the Government — for example a digital locker service provider such as DigiLocker that can confirm you are over 18 without sharing your full identity documents with us.

[PLACEHOLDER: founder and counsel to choose the method(s). Options to evaluate neutrally: (a) existing verified adult account; (b) DigiLocker or another authorised digital locker providing an age/identity token; (c) another age-verification token provider authorised under the Rules. The choice affects cost, coverage and friction.]

  4. You choose what to allow (for example, account linking and purchases with your approval), and confirm.

  5. We record your consent: who verified, the method, the time and the choices made — not copies of your identity documents. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm exactly what verification data is retained.]

We do not use the information you give for verification for anything else.

5. Your choices and rights as a parent
